
The INSPECTED QUALITY label for polyurethane foams confirms compliance with the “Criteri Ambientali Minimi” – the binding environmental criteria published in the Official Gazette of the Italian Republic on 28/01/2017.
The certified foams meet strict requirements concerning chemical restrictions, emissions and environmental compatibility, and are ideally suited for those who prioritise sustainable and legally compliant materials – especially for public procurement in Italy.
Requirements
- Use of authorised biocidal products
- Limits for extractable heavy metals
- Restrictions on the content of phthalates
- Content limits TDA / MDA (for foams based on TDI, respectively MDI)
- Limits of tin organic compounds
- Emissions of volatile substances (including formaldehyde, styrene, VOCs)
- Exclusion of hazardous dyes (e.g. azo dyes, carcinogenic or allergenic dyes)
- Limit on chlorine content from isocyanates
- Prohibition of halogenated blowing agents
- Prohibition of substances with specific hazard statements (e.g. H340, H350, H360, H370)
- Exclusion of other hazardous substances (e.g. PCP, PBBs, PentaBDE, TRIS)
