OEKO-TEX®

1. Which OEKO-TEX® certifications and labels does your company hold?

☑ OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100
☐ OEKO-TEX® LEATHER STANDARD
☐ OEKO-TEX® ORGANIC COTTON
☑ OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN
☑ OEKO-TEX® STeP
☐ OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT
☐ OEKO-TEX® RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS

2. What are your reasons for certifying according to OEKO-TEX®?

Ötscher has been certified according to ISO 9001 and 14001 for many years and is also an active member of amfori BSCI.

In addition, our products have long carried the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 label. The decision to pursue additional OEKO-TEX® certifications – particularly MADE IN GREEN – was a strategic step to consolidate existing standards, increase visibility, and further strengthen our commitment to sustainability. We see this as a consistent expansion of our efforts in quality, transparency, and responsibility in textile production.

3. What are the benefits of certification for you?

  • Guidance:
OEKO-TEX® STeP serves as an integrated system that consolidates existing standards while also being internationally recognized.
  • Communication & customer trust:
Certification allows us to credibly and transparently communicate our sustainable and ethical practices to the outside world.
  • Transparency:
We gain a comprehensive overview of all relevant aspects of the supply chain – from environmental indicators to social standards.
  • Support in complying with legal requirements:
Especially in the context of Germany's Supply Chain Due Diligence Act, OEKO-TEX® STeP supports us in identifying and minimizing risks and in meeting legal requirements.

4. What are the greatest advantages of the MADE IN GREEN label for you?

The MADE IN GREEN label combines product safety, sustainability, and transparency in a clear and comprehensible way. It allows end consumers to trace a product's supply chain via a product ID or QR code. This builds trust and strengthens the credibility of our sustainability communication. Although we are still at the beginning of implementation, we see the label as an important component in making our responsibility across the entire production chain visible – from material to finished garment.
