LÖFFLER and MADE IN GREEN: A Decade of Sustainability in Action

۱۳.۰۵.۲۵

OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN celebrates ten years of transparent commitment along the textile supply chain – and LÖFFLER is right at the heart of it. As a pioneer in functional sportswear "Made in Europe", the Austrian company demonstrates how sustainable textile labelling has an impact far beyond the label itself: through traceability via QR code, through clear processes, and trust from both retailers and consumers.

With over one million pieces produced annually, LÖFFLER is a compelling exampleof OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN products that combine ecological responsibility with product safety.

In an interview with Markus Reisegger from Löffler, manufacturers, fashion and home textile brands, as well as retailers, discover why the interaction of MADE IN GREEN, STANDARD 100, and STeP represents more than just a sustainable textile label with associated product and process certification—it offers a genuine market advantage: for improved processes, credible communication, and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) compliance.

Because: Those who want to demonstrate responsibility need more than just a label – they need verifiable sustainability.

What are your reasons for obtaining OEKO-TEX® certification?
LÖFFLER uses OEKO-TEX® certifications to ensure product safety and to strengthen customer trust in the brand. OEKO-TEX® is a respected and widely recognised benchmark for transparency and quality within the textile industry. The independent testing and audits of the materials used, as well as the production facilities, ensure that the highest quality and sustainability standards are met.

What are the advantages of certification for you?
The OEKO-TEX® certifications offer numerous benefits for LÖFFLER. These include, in particular, increased credibility and trust, which enhance our competitiveness. The certifications also help us optimise internal processes, enabling us to identify areas for improvement and to continuously evolve our social and environmental standards.

What do you consider the greatest benefits of the MADE IN GREEN label?
For years, LÖFFLER has been committed to transparency within its supply chain and makes this visible to both retailers and consumers. Tracing the supply chain alongside relevant product information fosters trust and serves as proof of LÖFFLER’s sustainability commitments. MADE IN GREEN stands for the integration of product safety with social and environmental responsibility.

OETI

What do you see as the benefits of working with OETI?
LÖFFLER places great value on the expertise and experience of OETI. We highly appreciate the long-standing and trust-based partnership. OETI’s reliability and high-quality testing services for certifications and audits play a key role in helping us uphold our standards and further strengthen our position as a sustainable and responsible brand.

Your Philosophy

What is your philosophy/strategy for producing sustainable and/or high-quality products?
LÖFFLER remains committed to regional textile production in Austria and across Europe, manufacturing around 70 percent of the fabrics used at its headquarters in Ried im Innkreis, Austria. Most other production steps—such as product development, cutting, sewing, quality control, warehousing, and shipping—are also carried out there. Some of the sewing is done at the company’s own subsidiary in Bulgaria and by partner firms throughout Europe.

What products do you sell?
LÖFFLER specialises in functional clothing for biking, Nordic sports, mountain sports, and underwear, producing approximately 1.1 million textile items each year.
