OEKO-TEX® Test Criteria 2019 – New regulations finally entered into force on 1 April. Please find the press release and detailed list of the changes that will come into effect on the 1st of May in this news clip.
OETI now audits textile companies who want to obtain the V-label on behalf of the Vegan Society Austria. The first pilot project with OETI’s long-term customer Vossen, one of Europe’s leading terry products’ manufacturers, proved to be a success.
Consumer protection and sustainability along the textile value chain have always been fundamental issues for the OEKO-TEX® Association. For this reason, the existing guidelines of the OEKO-TEX® product portfolio are updated at the beginning of each year.
When it comes to environmentally friendly production, the leather industry is still in its infancy. With the Sustainable Textile and Leather Production Certification (in short, STeP), which was launched on 01 April 2019, OEKO-TEX® is taking a giant step towards environmental protectionand sustainability, also in leather processing.

The new regulations for STANDARD 100 come into effect on 01 April 2019. Thus, we have prepared a simplified guide to the new regulations in the form of a PDF-document, which highlights the changes.

INSPECTED QUALITY is a label which OETI has developed for products which are composed of 100% natural fibres, produced regionally and produced in an environmentally friendly way. INSPECTED QUALITY is targeted at small- and medium-sized enterprises who want to illustrate the regional, eco-friendly and high quality character of their products.
For over 25 years, the OEKO-TEX®’s strategy has not been to wait for legislation but to be proactive in the field of consumer protection as a pioneer.
At the start of the year, the OEKO-TEX® Association as usual updated the applicable test criteria and limit values for product certification in accordance with STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®. The following new regulations come into effect on 01 April 2019 for all certifications, following a three-month transition period.
We are pleased to announce that, as of this fall, the OEKO-TEX® Association will introduce a new, standardised design for all brands within the OEKO-TEX® portfolio. This bold new design is currently in use with our MADE IN GREEN product label. This fall, we will achieve a consistently branded look with the design modification of both the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 and the STeP by OEKO-TEX® certification.
