We are pleased to announce that, as of this fall, the OEKO-TEX® Association will introduce a new, standardised design for all brands within the OEKO-TEX® portfolio.
This bold new design is currently in use with our MADE IN GREEN product label. This fall, we will achieve a consistently branded look with the design modification of both the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 and the STeP by OEKO-TEX® certification.
This is strictly a design update. The requirements and criteria for the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 and STeP by OEKO-TEX certification are not affected by this change.
Why have we decided to refresh our look?
With almost 25 years of experience, the OEKO-TEX® Association has evolved over the years. Initially offering only the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, today OEKO-TEX® is a full-service provider of products that create improved sustainability along the textile chain. Our future focus is the strategic change from a single consumer label ensuring human-ecological product safety, to a global system solution driving sustainability for brands, retailers and manufacturers.
Our individual product modules such as the Standard 100 and STeP certification are arranged under the OEKO-TEX® umbrella brand to strengthen the brand equity (see graphic).
How does this affect you?
1. Companies with OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 product certification
As of this autumn you will only receive Standard 100 certificates and label templates using the new design.
The previous OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 labels will remain valid in the short term. This means that you can continue to use the current label for product identification in any advertising materials in circulation and any materials already produced. It is our aim that all OEKO-TEX® customers use the new Standard 100 label in all communications by the end of 2017.
We ask that, beginning this autumn, you begin using the new Standard 100 label templates in all future design work, including: point-of-sale, hang tags, packaging, labels and stickers and other printed marketing materials such as brochures, exhibition walls, placards, etc.
The new label templates will be available to download from the OEKO-TEX® Self-Service Portal within the next few months. We will let you know the exact date as quickly as possible.
2. Production facilities with STeP by OEKO-TEX® certification
Beginning this autumn, OEKO-TEX® will only issue STeP certificates using the new design.
Current certificates are still valid for the specified term. You can use existing STeP labels in your B2B communication (e.g. on your website or in brochures, letters, catalogues) within the validity period of the specified certificate number.
New STeP labels will be available in the next few months and we ask that you switch to this new label no later than by the end of 2017 . New labels and corresponding templates will be available for download on the Self-Service Portal if necessary.
If you should have questions on our new design, please feel free to contact one of our OEKO-TEX® partner institutes and they will be happy to assist you. Otherwise, additional information regarding next steps will soon be on its way.
