06.04.2022 ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX®: Effective 1 April 2023, self-assessment will become a mandatory part of certification
So far, the ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX® certification consisted of a mandatory CAS number screening and laboratory analysis. The self-assessment and on-site inspection were voluntary. While the on-site inspection remains voluntary for the time being, the self-assessment will become mandatory in April 2023 for all customers who have not yet passed it for their production sites.

Council Directive 89/686/EEC (3) was adopted in the context of establishing the internal market, in order to harmonise health and safety requirements for personal protective equipment (PPE) in all Member States and to remove obstacles to trade in PPE between Member States.
